Pain is invisible, its symptoms are not.
Pain relief is what we do best!

There are many causes of debilitating pain. Illness, surgery, injuries, cancer, and even some types of treatment can cause pain. Animals feel pain in different ways. Many things affect each animal’s experience of pain. Sometimes pain is just a small nuisance; other times pain can affect your animal’s ability to function and think. It can prevent him from sleeping, eating and being active. Pain can also make him feel afraid, agitated or depressed.

Relieving and controlling pain early can help your pet get well faster, and return him sooner to daily activities and a happy enjoyment of life.

LASER THERAPY

Both visible and infrared light have been proven to be beneficial in clinical healing related to pain relief, and wound healing.  The mechanism of action is believed to be the absorption of the infrared energy by cellular tissue which causes a biological response of releasing healing enzymes within those cellular tissues.

Not all frequencies of light radiation result in such absorption of energy and some frequencies of light radiation penetrate deeper than others.

What does light or cold laser therapy actually do?

  • Stimulates cellular reproduction
  • Relaxes muscles and stimulates nerve transmission
  • Triggers acupuncture points and immune response
  • Reduces scar tissue and stimulates wound healing
  • Begins production of collagen–the most important component of wound healing
  • Increases blood capillary circulation and vascular activity
  • Stimulates production of endorphins and enkephelins from the brain
  • Increases RNA/DNA synthesis
  • Stimulates production of adrenal– which facilitate long term pain relief
  • Beneficial for arthritis
  • Stimulates synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP–an immediate energy source for muscle contraction and essential in the metabolism of all organisms
  • No damage to healthy tissue when applied as recommended
  • No reported side effects

PAIN AND NUTRITION

Believe it or not, nutrition plays a role in the persistence of pain.  There is an equation that reflects this.

G – B (+ R) = P

Good things put in the animal’s body – Bad things put in the animal’s body (+ the reserves of whatever condition the body has from past living) = The degree or amount of pain that can be expected or persist.  This is part of the reason why some feel more pain for the same situation that another has less pain.
